The moment I saw this Rosegal dress I knew I wanted to style it for work. Something about the 1920's style just seemed too perfect for a day in the office. While I had heard of Rosegal before, this was my first time actually trying out their clothes. The color of this dress is gorgeous & I was pleased with the fit. My one complaint is that the buttons are cheap quality. That said, for the price of the dress I was definitely pleased (and can change the buttons myself without too much effort/cost i think).

I've got a couple other items from Rosegal that I quite like, and I'll be showing them on the blog in the coming weeks! In the meantime, be sure to check them out and let me know your thoughts.

To compliment the 20's era office dress, I wanted to stick with low block heels. I recently picked these gold accent heels up at Winners and knew they would go perfectly with this dress. The style reminds me of my grandma - but with a fashionable twist. The fact that they are actually comfortable is just an added bonus haha.

Purse wise, I decided to go with my Forever 21 crossbody which I love because it is a total look-a-like of this Chloe crossbody that has been all the rage this year. This is definitely one of my favorite handbags.

I had a really low-key weekend, I've been a bit under the weather, so I am hoping this work week takes it easy on me! I'm planning on getting up extra early this whole week to try to get an hour of work done before Court every morning. I think it will make a huge difference to my stress load during the day, so I am excited to try it out. I am however armed with a stupid amount of coffee in my cupboard just to be on the safe side haha.

The Best Summer-to-Fall Transitional Item

the best summer to fall item is a maxi dress

This is one of my favorite fall looks year after year. Maxi dresses are the perfect summer-to-fall transitional piece for your wardrobe. You can layer a cardigan or jacket (like this denim one) and add a scarf for an easy fall look. It's also a great fall style because it is easy to adjust it to the temperatures. On more summery fall days stick with a light weight cardigan and scarf, but on cooler days add a jacket and blanket scarf.

The key to transitioning your maxi dress into the fall is to choose your dress / dresses wisely. Maxi dresses made of lighter materials such as chiffon should be left for the summer months. Cotton dresses, in contrast, are perfect to wear in the fall. Dresses in solid colors such as navy, black or red are easiest to style for fall.

This has been an odd work week for me, having both yesterday & today as office days. It's been great to actually catch up on paper work & emails, but I do struggle with not getting distracted at my desk. Hopefully today I can buckle down and then start my weekend early!

Aubergine

I have been on a bit of 'colored pant kick' lately (evidence here & here). When I spotted these aubergine colored ones on sale at JCrew Factory, I knew I had to add them to my collection. The color is perfect to transition into fall!

I also really love the straight leg cut of these pants. Almost all my other wear-to-work pants are loose boot cut pants, or skinny pants (.. yeah, you may have seen those on the blog once or twice haha). This cut is really flattering and a great addition to my office wear. I highly recommend these pants - especially since they come in 4 other great colors!

In other news, I've been getting a lot of questions in instagram direct messages lately, so I am doing a little Q&A video on Facebook this weekend! If you have any questions: fashion related, beauty related, about me, feel free to let me know in the comments below (or shoot me an email) and I will do my best to answer them all in the video!
