Wednesday Wants: Bold & Bright Work Wear

I'm going to blame this week's love of all things bright and bold on cinco de mayo being right around the corner. I have been loving bright bold choices for spring & summer work wear. This week's "Wednesday Wants" are some of my favorite colorful items of clothing (and shoes & handbags of course!) that are still work appropriate.

The pink and orange color block pencil skirt is definitely at the top of my wish list for summer work wear. It would be so easy to style with a white button down and nude pumps for fun summer work day look.

Back to speaking about cinco de mayo; do you all have fun plans!? I'm hoping the weather here will be nice & sunny so some friends and I can have margaritas on a patio after work. *fingers crossed*. Whatever you have on for this week (margarita related or non haha) I hope you have a great one.

Wednesday Wants

Happy Wednesday lovelies!! Hope you enjoy these spring items! I am LOVING all the pale pinks and blues that are emerging in spring items. Hope you have all had a great week so far! I had two busy work days Monday & Tuesday but have no cases or clients to meet with today so I am taking the morning to catch up on home organization. I also hope to get a quick walk along the sea wall in because we are getting ah-may-zing weather here in Vancouver!

1. Stella & Dot Spiked Bracelet: Love this edgy look. The perfect addition for an arm party.

2. Peach Frill Top: I can't waitttt for spring to be wearing breezy, frilly tops like this J Crew one! Picture this with white denim and cognac ankle boots. win!

3. Flower Stud Set: I am always on the look out for cheaply priced basic earrings. I love these flower shaped studs from Forever 21! The crystal ones are the perfect staple earring that will go with everything!

4. Rebecca Minkoff Envelope Clutch: One of the best new trends in handbags, in my opinion, is envelope clutches. I just love this shape! This R.M. one in pale blue is perfect for pairing with spring colours like blush, pale pink, and lavender!

5. Pastel Chevron Heels: HOW COOL ARE THESE?!?!?!

6. J Crew Anchor Button Up: I am anchor obsessed- I even have a tattoo of an anchor on my wrist (see my instagram for a pic). As a delta gamma, anchors are one of our symbols and, additionally, anchors are the international symbol for hope. Clearly, this top just jumps out at me!

7. Kate Spade Pale Pink Purse: Again with pale pink :S ... sorry guys! haha. I told you I love this colour for spring!

8. Tory Burch Bangles: In the spring (when wrists are actually exposed and not hidden under 47 thousand layers of clothing) I love wearing stacks of bracelets. These ones are so chic!

Happy Monday everyone! I am loving the combination of bright mint, bright yellow, and pale blue for spring! This outfit just makes me happy - and with so many sales right now you can get the entire look for like $100!!!

For those of you who follow me regularly, you may have noticed some radio-silence when it comes to my job. Well, that is because things have been in flux for me. I finished my contract as a Crown Prosecutor at the end of January and have been spending a lot of time trying to figure out my next steps. It was incredibly hard for me to not be working as a lawyer (even though it was only a few weeks) as I really do truly love criminal law. Today however, I am pleased to announce that I am officially set up now as a criminal defense lawyer. I'm completely my own boss (working as a sole practitioner) but I am working in tandem with two other lawyers who I am excited to learn from!

This has been a pretty crazy transition for me, but I have learned a lot. I still think I want to get back into the prosecution side of things eventually, but for now, I am excited (and terrified) for this new adventure. I'm looking forward to the flexibility that being your own boss affords, and I am also eager to sharpen my skills as a zealous advocate for my clients. I'm excited to combine my passion for helping people with the academic side of my brain in order to help people who have been charged with crimes. Cheers to life changes and next steps!

Wednesday Wants

spring fashion to buy

Happy Wednesday! Hope you enjoy this week's edition of Wednesday Wants. As you can see I am all about bright colours this week. Let's bring on the nicer weather! Have a great day everyone!

1. Old Navy White Skinny Jeans:
I love white skinny jeans in the summer and have been searching for an affordable pair. At only $30 these definitely do the trick!

2. Sole Society Ear Cuffs: I am loving this jewelery trend-  I just bought my first pair of ear cuffs and they make me feel super bad a$$. These floral crystal ones are perfect and 'neutral' if you are looking to try out this trend!

3.Kendra Scott Open Ring: I mentioned in
last week's Wednesday Wants that I was really liking Kendra Scott's latest collection of jewelery. This ring is one of my favourite pieces so far.

4. Express Full Mini Skirt: I love a full mini skirt. Easy, chic and can be worn with so many different tops.

5. MK Hot Pink Purse: THIS COLOUR. *swoon*

6. Tory Burch Beige Pouch: I love the simplicity of this pouch - the perfect neutral colour and the tassels are adorable.

7. Sole Society Grey-Blue Heels: I love the unique shade of these heels and the fact that they are high enough to look great, but low enough to wear to work without dying.

8. Express Pink Dress: I just can't get enough of bright pink for spring and summer. Such a breezy dress that would look great on its own with some gold sandals, or could be dressed up with a navy or nautical striped blazer.
