If you follow me on instagram, you'll have seen that yesterday the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Vancouver as part of their royal trip to B.C. Friends & I went down to the sea wall to see them arrive by float plane. Of course, being a fashion blogger, I had to take the opportunity to wear the most 'royal appropriate' outfit I could think of.

The weather is freezing right now, so I decided to wear m pale pink winter dress coat on top of my cream dress. People tend to shy away from pastels in the fall and winter, but I think that pale pink is an all season color. It works great for fall paired with winter whites and greys.

While we only got to see Princess Kate & Will for a few minutes, it was truly incredible. Kate is even more gorgeous than I possibly could have imagined, and Will is even funnier (he made a comment about taking selfies!).

Kate wore a stunning Alexander McQueen red & white dress. The dress is part of their 2017 resort collection - though the actual dress is quite different than what Kate wore as she had a number of alterations done - including adding "dress shirt" style sleeves and lengthening the hem. She accessorized it with bright red pumps and a red clutch.

Below are some photos from the event. The quality is not the greatest, but I just love that I have them! For more photos & videos head on over to my instagram stories - quickly before they expire!

This is one of my favorite winter work looks. I love the popped collar - it allows me to throw my hair up in a bun and still look polished! I also cannot imagine heading to work in the winter without my tech gloves. I love being able to be on my phone without having my fingers freeze.

As i mentioned last week, I wanted to share some more tips with you on looking professional in your winter outerwear. If you missed my first post with tips, you can see it here.

More Tips for Professional Looking Winter Outerwear:

1. If you are wearing a skirt or a dress, go for a longer coat
Where as last week I showed you an outfit featuring suit pants & a shorter peacoat, this week I wanted to show you winter outerwear over a dress. If I am wearing a dress or skirt I always wear a longer coat. This provides both a cleaner aesthetic and it keeps you warmer.

2. Wear Fleece Lined Tights

When this product was first hitting the market a few years back I bought a pair and they were AWFUL. The fleece was so thick that the tights added some serious thickness to my legs.. not exactly something I wanted! I thus swore off these tights for years. Just recently though, I came across this brand with great reviews. I took the plunge and bought a pair, and now I practically live in these all winter. The fleece is subtle enough that the tights don't look thicker but they are so cozy and do keep you warmer.

3. Wear Tech Gloves

As I mentioned above, I adore these gloves. We are all way to busy to not be able to be on our phones the entire time we are outside! There are SO many great options for tech gloves right now that I made a widget below of my favorites. Scroll through to see them all!

Wednesday Wants

Neutrals - blush tones, camels, and greys - are going to be very popular this winter. I've been eyeing a number of great neutral pieces in stores lately and thought I'd get a head start on rounding up some great pieces for the late fall and early winter. I must say my favourite items are the gorgeous wrap coat and bow coat!

Today promises to be a busy day with a course on ethics in the legal profession in the evening followed by one of my favourite dance classes. I hope you all have a great day ahead as well! See you back here on Friday!!

Today I'm excited to be doing a collaboration with Bree from The Urban Umbrella and Sam from OTI Samantha. Samantha is doing a "colour series" on her blog and reached out to Bree and I to showcase some of our favourite pink outfits for this series. You all know I friggin love pink so this was an easy one for me! Pink is so often ignored in the colder months so I wanted to show off a winter/early spring coat that brings a pop of pink to your cold weather wardrobe. Hope you like it!

Today I have a day out of court (the first day in over a week and a half) and I am actually happy about that! I have tons of office work and research to do so I am really excited to have a day at my desk, drinking coffee and getting my work done. I am so lucky to love what I do so much that this "work" barely feels like work at all. Hope you all have a great day ahead of you.

How insanely adorable is my niece Maia?! For today's post Maia decided to "play fashion blogger" with Auntie Leeanne, which was basically the cutest thing ever. Maia and I decided for our "co-post" to show off our favourite winter gear. I love, love, love my Sorel's - they are so worth the cost as they are totally comfortable and keep your feet toasty warm. As for my winter coat, I wanted my "winter-iest" coat to (clearly) keep me super warm ... but without the typical "marshmallow" look. I love this coat because it combines that marshmallow puff with a heavy knit material for a super interesting contrast.

I will definitely be sporting this outfit this weekend as I am headed up to Whistler for a girls trip! I am so excited to go snowboarding on Saturday (first time this year!) and then on Sunday the girls and I are having a spa day at the amaaaazing Scandinave spa. I am so looking forward to it! Hope you all have a great weekend in store as well!!
