Ever since 90s fashion came back as a trend earlier this year, I've dabbled with the idea of incorporating styles - like the choker necklace - into a work day look. So, with this outfit, I finally pulled the trigger on that idea - and I love the result! I felt like a complete boss circa 1994 in this outfit - think Sarah Michelle Gellar at a press conference haha.

The choker necklace is obviously the central piece of this look (it's so fun!) but I also wanted to keep the 90s vibe alive by sticking with flowy materials and fabrics - a 90s staple. Pairing this loose shirt with these work day track pants definitely gave me the look I wanted.

I added in my favorite Chloe dupe sunglasses and some killer statement heels just to feel extra tough. Something about killer shoes & sunnies just makes me feel more confident!

What do you guys think of this look?! Did I succeed in making the 90s trend work appropriate? Would you wear 90s style to work? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! Have a great work day everyone.

The Perfect Summer Dress

Dress c/o // Shoes // Handbag (under $25!) // Hat // Celine Sunglasses Dupes (under $20!): here & here // Necklace c/o // Lipstick (in "JuJu")

This may just be the perfect dress. A crisp white shirt dress is such a versatile piece. You can style it for the office or, as I did here, for a more casual weekend look. This particular dress is great for a number of reasons:

1) It has pockets (If you saw my facebook yesterday, you
    understand my love of pockets haha);
2) It has hidden buttons between each button on the chest
    (in other words, the dreaded 'gapping' is not a problem) and;
3) The length. This dress is cut just long enough to be work
    day appropriate (score!)

I also have to share my excitement over these Celine dupes. The Celine "baby audrey" sunglasses have been the "it" item all summer. Finding affordable look-a-likes was thus hugely exciting for me.

I hope you all had an amazing weekend (and to my American readers - Happy Independence Day!). I am so happy to finally be celebrating summer here in Vancouver. I am back at work today, but am already planning a beach bbq for after work this week. Bring on the sun, sand, and ice cold drinks!

Happy Monday everyone! We had a gorgeous weekend here in Vancouver and I was SO excited to actually have my bare legs out getting some sun (I am so pale it hurts). While I love all the bold florals and crazy bright colours of spring fashion, I often like to mix it up with pale grey. The colour works so well for spring, especially paired with pale pink (see my office look in this colour scheme
here )

The polka dots on this romper really jumped out at me, and at under $35 dollars, I just had to grab it! Rompers are an easy "one-and-done" type outfit. Perfect for when you just want to get your butt out the door and into the sun!

Today I have actually got the day off (working night court tonight) and I'm so excited to spend more time in the sun!

One of my favourite fashion combinations is stripes and florals. The look is incredibly versatile but always looks polished. While I often pair a striped skirt with a floral top, I wanted to be a bit more subtle with this look and just add a pop of floral with the heels. I also love bringing out a pop of colour with this pink MK handbag. I just recently got this purse and I am in love with it.

Hope you have all had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend. I've got a dance performance Saturday night which I am looking forward to, and have my sorority's Founders Day ceremony on Sunday which will be a great chance to catch up with a bunch of Delta Gamma's I haven't seen in a while. Should be good!

Wednesday Wants

wednesday wants

Happy Wednesday Everyone! How is everyone's week going? My mom got in to town last night (visiting from Ontario) so I am taking this whole week off to just spend some time with her. I am so excited! Today is our first real day together (she flew in late last night) and boy-oh-boy have I jam packed it with stuff haha. Were just about to head off for a morning walk along the sea wall, then were going to go for Brunch, go shopping on Robson St., explore Gastown, and finally have dinner reservations! Phew! Fellow Vancouver-ites out there: any recommendations of things I must do with my mom!?!

1. YSL Lipstick: I have been DYING to try this lipstick. I have read so many great reviews from other bloggers, but have yet to find a colour I like. ...That is until I came across "blond ingenu" it is the perfect neutral colour! Can't wait to pick this one up.

2. Isola Ankle Boots: How great are these boots?! I think these are the PERFECT transitional boot from winter to spring. The colour and cut will look great with spring outfits (think white denim, lots of pastel colours) but will still keep your feet warm and toasty for those 'not-so-spring-feeling' days.

3. Pop the Champagne Tee: Love the slogan, love the gold foil. Awesome graphic tee.

4. Target Sunglasses: I am loving mirrored sunglasses right now, BUT, I refuse to buy sunglasses that cost more than $30 because I am the WORST at losing/breaking/somehow destorying sunglasses. These are right on trend and are only $17!

5. JCrew Cotton Tee in "Orchid": I basically LIVE in these tissue tees from JCrew Factory. They are so comfortable and just the right fit of "not too tight, but not too baggy". I think I have 5 of them so far haha. Definitely want to add this beautiful orchid colour one to my collection for spring! If you haven't worn these tees, do yourself a favour and buy one (...or five...)

6. London Graphic Tee: I heart London;  Princess Kate, Fish & Chips, Tea Time, Prince Harry.... I need this tee.

7. JCrew Neon Sleeveless Blouse: THIS COLOUR! Epic!

8. Ralph Lauren Necklace: Love the gold and turquoise combo, and I like that it's a smaller statement necklace (...anyone else think that statement necklaces are getting out of hand lately?! sometimes they literally take up your whole chest!)
