Hello Ladies!  My name's Jenna, and I blog over at Sincerely Jenna Marie about my everyday outfits and activities.  I'm so excited to be covering for Lee while she gets her vacation on in Toronto and Aruba- just a little jelly ;)

What

I figured this outfit was a perfect 'introduction' look, since it incorporates all my favorite things (well except my little dog Sherlock and froyo): stripes, olive, leopard, Kendra Scott, and denim.  You'll pretty much find me wearing at least one of these things everyday, but I've decided they're best all mashed together.  I especially love the mix of stripes- mixing the same pattern in two different scales is my preferred method of print mixing.  It feels a little more modern, but it's still a playful approach to layers.

Where

I wore this outfit to a ladies' plant night that I coordinated with some coworkers.  I brought plenty of appetizers and drinks, and we got our succulent and cactus planting on with the fabulous Laura of Lokey Designs.  It was so much fun and I'm quite excited my cactus is still thriving, despite my black thumb.  If you follow along on snapchat (roberts_jenna) I share updates on Herbert regularly.  Yes, my cactus is named Herbert :)

Jenna Lyons is probably my biggest fashion idol. She is the president & creative director for J Crew, and a major risk-taker in the world of fashion. When I bought this JCrew flamingo blazer, I knew I wanted to be really bold with my style choices and 'make Jenna proud'.

I decided to do some print mixing and wear the pink blazer with both leopard print and stripes for a bold work outfit. If you are shy about print mixing, don't be! If you missed my tips on print mixing, check them out here. Leopard & stripes are a classic print mix combo, and adding in any bright color with them (like hot pink) works perfectly.

I also plan on styling this pink blazer in a more subdued work outfit later in the fall, so be sure to stay tuned on the blog for that!

Wednesday Wants - Print Mixing

style tips on print mixing items

polka dots and stripes print mixing

My favorite part of fall fashion is the print mixing. Stripes, plaid, polka dots, & leopard are probably the 4 biggest prints of fall - and they work great when mixed together!

The key to print mixing is balancing the sizes - ie. if one print is very small, the other should be large. So, tiny polka dots work well with thick stripes, while big polka dots work better with thin stripes.

Liven up your work wear this fall, by doing some print mixing! If you are print-mixing-shy (yes, we're labelling that a term haha) stick with one printed item worn with a basic, and add your second print in via your shoes! The 8 pairs below (2 of each of the top 4 prints for fall) are a great way to ease your way in to print mixing your outfits.

In other news, if you follow my instagram, you may have seen my story about doing a Facebook live Q&A! I have been getting a lot of reader questions via instagram DMs (and a few good old fashioned emails) so I am going to round some up for a Q&A!

If you have any questions you'd like to ask me (fashion, beauty, about me) send me an instagram message or leave it as a comment below! I'll try to do the Q&A video this weekend!

I have been wearing this skirt a lot lately (see this post). Pairing it with a turtleneck and statement necklace made for a fun work look that was comfortable all day long. This turtleneck is actually a body suit. They are the best thing to wear with pencil skirts - smooth lines and no uncomfortable bunching! I highly recommend body suits.

Today is Day 7 of 12 Days of Giveaways and today we are giving away such a great prize - the below hat & scarf set from Deloom, AND a $50 gift card to Deloom!

I only recently discovered Deloom and I love their store! They have the "Holiday items" category ON. LOCK. Perfect sequin items for your holiday outfits and tons of cozy items that make perfect Christmas gifts! You can see my favourites below. But first, today's featured blogger is Carrie from Curly Crafty Mom. I love all the creative projects she comes up with!

I have been rocking a LOT of midi skirts lately so i figured I would break way from that look and go for something more edgy - a black and white print mixed outfit. The key to print/pattern mixing is (1) to use totally different patterns in the same colour family (as I did here) or (2) to go with different colours but of a similar pattern (ex. a pink and blue polka dot top with a black and blue polka dot skirt).
