Work Wear Outfit Ideas for Fall

fall office appropriate outfit ideas

When I'm looking for inspiration for what to wear at the beginning of a season, one of the first things I do is go through my old blog posts to remind myself of outfits I wore last year. This helps to remind me of style ideas I liked, and gets the creative juices flowing!

Today, therefore, I thought I would share 5 office appropriate outfits that I wore last fall, and will definitely be re-creating again this year. I hope these help inspire your own work day fall style. Below each photo I've included a link to the original blog post where you can see all of the outfit details (all item links have been updated.)

PS. did you catch my Facebook live style Q&A over the weekend?! I've saved the video to my facebook page, so head on over to check it out if you missed it!

Macy’s Fashion Front Row

Surprise! I bet you didn't expect a blog post from me on a Saturday, did you?! Well, I had to do an additional blog post this week, because I had to tell you all about an exciting upcoming event.

Right now Macy's is preparing for a huge event; Fashion's Front Row. Fashion Front Row is a 'Shopping Party' happening at Macy's locations across America. If you are wanting to get insight on fall fashion trends, or if you've been having FOMO over New York Fashion Week *cough* me *cough*, then you need to check out a Fashion Front Row event! The best part is that attending is free!

The events themselves will have music & special guests, and of course the latest fall trends available for you to shop. This is a great way to take the stress out of fall shopping and get the insider scoop on what trends to try this fall, and how to update your wardrobe in a fun, stress-free way! Macy's fall fashion is where it's at!

I used to live in San Diego; and it is still one of my favorite cities on earth. In my time there, I spent a lot of time at the Macy's Fashion Valley. As such, I was stoked to hear that Macy's Fashion Valley is one of the locations having a Front Row event. I so wish I could attend!

If you are in the SD area, check it out (...and let me know how it is!) Fashion Front Row is happening at Macy's Fashion Valley on September 17th at 3pm. Click through to the link at the bottom of this post to RSVP! The Fashion Vallet event is being hosted by reality TV star Dorothy Wang, the star of the hit E! series #RichKids of Beverly Hills and the Founder of Fabuluxe Jewelry and Rich and Bubbly Champagne

For more information on the Fashion Front Row events, and to RSVP to an event, head to:

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Macy's; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Aubergine

I have been on a bit of 'colored pant kick' lately (evidence here & here). When I spotted these aubergine colored ones on sale at JCrew Factory, I knew I had to add them to my collection. The color is perfect to transition into fall!

I also really love the straight leg cut of these pants. Almost all my other wear-to-work pants are loose boot cut pants, or skinny pants (.. yeah, you may have seen those on the blog once or twice haha). This cut is really flattering and a great addition to my office wear. I highly recommend these pants - especially since they come in 4 other great colors!

In other news, I've been getting a lot of questions in instagram direct messages lately, so I am doing a little Q&A video on Facebook this weekend! If you have any questions: fashion related, beauty related, about me, feel free to let me know in the comments below (or shoot me an email) and I will do my best to answer them all in the video!

Wednesday Wants - Print Mixing

style tips on print mixing items

polka dots and stripes print mixing

My favorite part of fall fashion is the print mixing. Stripes, plaid, polka dots, & leopard are probably the 4 biggest prints of fall - and they work great when mixed together!

The key to print mixing is balancing the sizes - ie. if one print is very small, the other should be large. So, tiny polka dots work well with thick stripes, while big polka dots work better with thin stripes.

Liven up your work wear this fall, by doing some print mixing! If you are print-mixing-shy (yes, we're labelling that a term haha) stick with one printed item worn with a basic, and add your second print in via your shoes! The 8 pairs below (2 of each of the top 4 prints for fall) are a great way to ease your way in to print mixing your outfits.

In other news, if you follow my instagram, you may have seen my story about doing a Facebook live Q&A! I have been getting a lot of reader questions via instagram DMs (and a few good old fashioned emails) so I am going to round some up for a Q&A!

If you have any questions you'd like to ask me (fashion, beauty, about me) send me an instagram message or leave it as a comment below! I'll try to do the Q&A video this weekend!

Three Timeless Fall Trends

three fall trends that never go out of style

It is officially fall weather here in Vancouver. So, in getting ready for the fall, I wanted to share with you three trends that are timeless; trends you can count on to look great fall after fall, after fall.

fashion bloggers favorite fall outfits

Three Timeless Fall Trends

1) Plaid

As soon as the weather turns colder, you can bet that plaid will be back in fashion. The nice thing about plaid is that you can make quite the statement with it - as I did with the above shirt. Or; you can use it as more of an accent to your outfit - as I did in the outfit below.

 2) Stripes

The beauty of stripes as a pattern is that they can look nautical & summery, or ready for fall totally depending on how you style them. My striped tees are probably the most worn items in my wardrobe for this very reason!

To ensure your stripes are "fall ready"; pair them with other fall colors like burgundy or camel - or course mix them with plaid!

3) Leopard Print

The quote that leopard is a neutral is so true - especially for the fall. In the fall, leopard print can replace your basic black or tan to give your outfits more depth. Again, pairing leopard print with fall tones such as burgundy is an easy way to create a timeless fall look.

Wednesday Wants: Stylish Blazers

best blazers for women

womens blazers bold colors

As a primarily courtroom lawyer, I spend 95% of my time in blazers. If you too have to wear a blazer some or all of the time at work, you know the importance of finding one that is good quality, well-fitted, and stylish! It can be a daunting task (especially as a female!).

Luckily, this fall there are so many bold blazers that make a fashion statement while still ensuring you look polished and professional. The above ones are my favorites (... so far haha) I think I am going to invest in the pink one. Clearly, it can't be worn every day, but what beautiful statement piece! I love it with stripes (as they've shown), but it would also look gorgeous with pale grey, black or even leopard print for a bold choice.

How many of you wear blazers to work regularly? Should I style more of them here on LLB? I would love to know your thoughts!

On another note, I am still on vacation and having so much fun with all my nieces and nephews. Be sure to follow along on instagram & twitter to stay up to date on my adventures. And for all you working moms out there - YOU ARE ALL SUPERHUMAN. I am SO impressed and have a renewed respect for all you manage to do. #TiredAuntLee

Wednesday Wants: #NSale Handbags & Jewelry

The #NSale is still going strong, and so this week my wants are handbags and jewelry from the sale that are work day appropriate and right on trend for this fall. I am especially in love with rose gold & shades of burgundy for fall. How great is that Aubergine side pocket handbag?! So practical and so chic.

The Nordstrom sale has only 5 days left, so if you want to get any of these items at their discounted prices, be sure to order them ASAP! I'll be sharing my purchases with you guys later in the week - including telling you which items I did *not* like, so stay tuned for that.

Happy shopping everyone! I plan on doing one last NSale shop later today or tomorrow. Who am I kidding, it will be tomorrow- this week is just flying by me! Having a 3 day weekend (as great as they are) always seems to just make the rest of the work week insanely busy. I did manage to utilize the extra long weekend to get a bunch of work week prep done though! If you follow me on twitter you know what I mean! (delicious food.... i mean delicious fooooood, haha.) Have a great day readers!
