This is one of my favorite winter work looks. I love the popped collar - it allows me to throw my hair up in a bun and still look polished! I also cannot imagine heading to work in the winter without my tech gloves. I love being able to be on my phone without having my fingers freeze.

As i mentioned last week, I wanted to share some more tips with you on looking professional in your winter outerwear. If you missed my first post with tips, you can see it here.

More Tips for Professional Looking Winter Outerwear:

1. If you are wearing a skirt or a dress, go for a longer coat
Where as last week I showed you an outfit featuring suit pants & a shorter peacoat, this week I wanted to show you winter outerwear over a dress. If I am wearing a dress or skirt I always wear a longer coat. This provides both a cleaner aesthetic and it keeps you warmer.

2. Wear Fleece Lined Tights

When this product was first hitting the market a few years back I bought a pair and they were AWFUL. The fleece was so thick that the tights added some serious thickness to my legs.. not exactly something I wanted! I thus swore off these tights for years. Just recently though, I came across this brand with great reviews. I took the plunge and bought a pair, and now I practically live in these all winter. The fleece is subtle enough that the tights don't look thicker but they are so cozy and do keep you warmer.

3. Wear Tech Gloves

As I mentioned above, I adore these gloves. We are all way to busy to not be able to be on our phones the entire time we are outside! There are SO many great options for tech gloves right now that I made a widget below of my favorites. Scroll through to see them all!

I've had this faux layer sweater for years now and it is one of my favorite items (see another way I styled it here). A faux layered sweater keeps you cozy without adding bulk, and is great for a casual (non-suit) office. I paired it with some bright pants to warm up a wintery look.

I also still love my Polette E-glasses. These glasses protect your eyes from computer glare & eye strain. I have been doing a lot of research this week (... and binge watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix in my downtime, haha) so they have been a life saver!

Enjoy your weekend everyone. I am off to candlelight yoga tonight, and a Mexican themed house party on Saturday night. See you back here on Monday for another post!

Can you believe it is already the last week of work before Christmas?! I love festive outfits this time of year (as evidence by my instagram lately haha) but it can be hard to do so and still look professional.

This outfit has been my go to this holiday season. I love the red pencil skirt and it's so easy to add a bit of sparkle and get a work appropriate holiday look.

Good luck to everyone in getting through this late week till Christmas! I'm not making it home to Ontario this year (flights were over $1000!) but I am SO lucky to have such great friends that Christmas is still going to be amazing. I'm having two of my closest friends over for Christmas Eve. I'm going to make a proper Christmas dinner (thanks mom for the recipes!) and then we are just going to relax and drink by the fire. Then, Christmas morning I am heading bright & early to my best friend's parents house which is about an hour away. I'll stay up there for a couple days and could not be more excited about it!

What are your Christmas plans?!

Seeing Red

Blazer: old. similar: here
Pants: banana republic
Handbag: Michael Kors
Heels: old. similar: here & here
I love a bold blazer to break up the monotony of work wear. This red one is an old favourite of mine that I find myself reaching for every season.

Today's post truly is all about "red" as I also wanted to share with you guys some photos from the red carpet last night! Last night I was lucky enough to attend the Vancouver International Film Festival red carpet for the premiere of Homme Less. It was a great night. The red carpet was a ton of fun, the film was interesting and the after party was a blast. I highly recommend this film to everyone. It is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen! Overall it was great to be out supporting VIFF's style in film series! Below are some of the pics I snapped during the events.

.... Now, time for me to get real up-close-and-personal with a gallon of coffee; the only negative to being out on a Sunday night haha! I hope your Monday's all fly by, and I will see you back here on Wednesday.
