Wednesday Wants - Print Mixing

style tips on print mixing items

polka dots and stripes print mixing

My favorite part of fall fashion is the print mixing. Stripes, plaid, polka dots, & leopard are probably the 4 biggest prints of fall - and they work great when mixed together!

The key to print mixing is balancing the sizes - ie. if one print is very small, the other should be large. So, tiny polka dots work well with thick stripes, while big polka dots work better with thin stripes.

Liven up your work wear this fall, by doing some print mixing! If you are print-mixing-shy (yes, we're labelling that a term haha) stick with one printed item worn with a basic, and add your second print in via your shoes! The 8 pairs below (2 of each of the top 4 prints for fall) are a great way to ease your way in to print mixing your outfits.

In other news, if you follow my instagram, you may have seen my story about doing a Facebook live Q&A! I have been getting a lot of reader questions via instagram DMs (and a few good old fashioned emails) so I am going to round some up for a Q&A!

If you have any questions you'd like to ask me (fashion, beauty, about me) send me an instagram message or leave it as a comment below! I'll try to do the Q&A video this weekend!

Fridays call for fun, bold work looks. Patterned pants are a great way to change up your office style. I also personally love adding my rose gold heels whenever I want to add a touch of drama to my outfit.

This faux leather sleeve blazer is also a go-to for me. I love finding blazers that keep the classic, fit and look of a blazer - but add a touch of trend; in this case, faux leather.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I will be a busy bee trying to see lots of family and friends here in Ontario over the weekend. My goddaughter's 3rd birthday party is on Sunday and I think I am most excited about that! See you back here on Monday! In the meantime - I FINALLY GOT TWITTER! Please Follow me!!

Happy Thursday! Today I am so excited to be guest co-hosting the Spotlight Weekly Link Up with Jacqueline from Stylin in St Louis and Elle from Living in Colour Style. If you are a reader of mine, be sure to go check them out - I adore both of them and read their blogs daily! If you are stopping by from the link up; welcome!! Nice to "meet" you! I would love to hear more about you new readers, so feel free to tell me about yourselves in the comments! And thank you so much for stopping by LegalLee Blonde!

This week our spotlight weekly theme is prints & patterns. As soon I as I heard this was the theme, I knew EXACTLY the dress I needed to wear. This Lauren Ralph Lauren dress is such a statement piece but somehow isn't too "flashy" for frequent wear. I have worn this no less than 3 times since I got it just over a month ago! For today's look I added pops of colour with teal earrings and a bright pink purse, though I often wear it with just a dark blue statement necklace (see a picture of this on my instagram)

Hope you all have a great Thursday! Oh, and sorry for the 'not-so-great' quality of these photos - it has been IMPOSSIBLE to get a non-sunny day/location in Vancouver lately, so unfortunately I just had to make do and shoot in the sun (... I am not complaining though, total sun in Vancouver?! I'll take it!!)

Wednesday Wants

I am feeling really overwhelmed and pretty exhausted this week (.. to all you other working professionals who also have blogs, I am SO impressed by you, I just don't know how you do it you superhumans you!) but I still wanted to share some Wednesday Wants with you guys. I did some online "window shopping" on the weekend and these are the fruits of that investigation (... did I just say 'fruits of the investigation'?.... ya, I have definitely spent too much time in court this week).

This week's "wants" are all about PRINTS because I am loving the variety of prints out there this season. I literally would never have thought to wear a watermelon top or a flamingo scarf but hot damn do I want them.

My apologies if this post is a bit scattered... time to go grab a (very large) coffee!! Catch y'all back here on Friday!

Wednesday Wants

Happy Wednesday Everyone! How is everyone's week going? My mom got in to town last night (visiting from Ontario) so I am taking this whole week off to just spend some time with her. I am so excited! Today is our first real day together (she flew in late last night) and boy-oh-boy have I jam packed it with stuff haha. Were just about to head off for a morning walk along the sea wall, then were going to go for Brunch, go shopping on Robson St., explore Gastown, and finally have dinner reservations! Phew! Fellow Vancouver-ites out there: any recommendations of things I must do with my mom!?!

1. YSL Lipstick: I have been DYING to try this lipstick. I have read so many great reviews from other bloggers, but have yet to find a colour I like. ...That is until I came across "blond ingenu" it is the perfect neutral colour! Can't wait to pick this one up.

2. Isola Ankle Boots: How great are these boots?! I think these are the PERFECT transitional boot from winter to spring. The colour and cut will look great with spring outfits (think white denim, lots of pastel colours) but will still keep your feet warm and toasty for those 'not-so-spring-feeling' days.

3. Pop the Champagne Tee: Love the slogan, love the gold foil. Awesome graphic tee.

4. Target Sunglasses: I am loving mirrored sunglasses right now, BUT, I refuse to buy sunglasses that cost more than $30 because I am the WORST at losing/breaking/somehow destorying sunglasses. These are right on trend and are only $17!

5. JCrew Cotton Tee in "Orchid": I basically LIVE in these tissue tees from JCrew Factory. They are so comfortable and just the right fit of "not too tight, but not too baggy". I think I have 5 of them so far haha. Definitely want to add this beautiful orchid colour one to my collection for spring! If you haven't worn these tees, do yourself a favour and buy one (...or five...)

6. London Graphic Tee: I heart London;  Princess Kate, Fish & Chips, Tea Time, Prince Harry.... I need this tee.

7. JCrew Neon Sleeveless Blouse: THIS COLOUR! Epic!

8. Ralph Lauren Necklace: Love the gold and turquoise combo, and I like that it's a smaller statement necklace (...anyone else think that statement necklaces are getting out of hand lately?! sometimes they literally take up your whole chest!)
