Wednesday Wants: Tropical

summer style palm print

summer fashion trends prints

I have been craving all things summer lately. Maybe because it has been the opposite here in Vancouver lately?! haha. Seriously, it has been pouring rain and freezing- ugh!

Luckily, tropical items make me smile no matter how rainy it is outside! I have always been obsessed with palm trees, starfish & anchors. My mom recently found some old school notebooks of mine (from the 3rd grade) and sure enough they are covered with doodles of palm trees haha.

I hope you are all having a great week and that these tropical items bring a smile to your face. I think i'm going to pull the trigger and buy that palm print phone case today.

High Five for Friday #5

Happy Friday! This week I am doing another High Five for Friday recap of 5 great things from my week. Here goes:
1) Rooftop Dinner
Last Sunday night my friend Natalia & I spent some time relaxing at the beach (always a win in my books). Then went and got Thai take out for dinner. Natalia's building has a rooftop with some of the most ridiculously gorgeous views of the Ocean so we took our thai food and ate dinner on the roof in the sunshine. It was so much fun and the perfect relaxing way to start off another week!

2) Mail Day!
I am like a kid at Christmas when things I have ordered online finally arrive. This week I got a target shipment and I am in love with everything I got!

3) World's Shortest trip to the U.S.A.

On Tuesday I went to Point Roberts, Washington for the first time. I recently got a mailbox there (something apparently so many Canadians living closer to the border do; who knew!?) and so I went to pick up the above mentioned target order. I was in the U.S. for all of 30 minutes but I had SO MUCH FUN. I am so weird but I just could not get over the fact that within 50 minutes of leaving my apartment I was in a different country!! I actually had so much fun driving over the border, and Point Roberts is actually a cute little town! I drove around the ocean front for a while before heading back across the border and snapped a couple pretty pics.

4) Dance Rehearsals I have a big dance show tonight (ahh!) and so this week has been filled with dance rehearsals. I think I have danced for a minimum hour and half every day this week.

5) Family Time

My mom arrived from Toronto last night and is staying for a week to help me get all moved in to my new place. I am so excited to have her here (she has a great eye for decorating and I could really use her help!) plus I am excited to just spend some time walking along the sea wall and catching up.

Ps. since my mom arrived last night I don't have any pics to represent this "great moment from my week" so here is a pic of my mom from a blog post I did on her here)

Happy Wednesday everyone! You'll notice some home decor items in this week's wants (how gorgeous are those pineapple jars?!) because home decor is taking over my brain this week as I plan to move in to my new condo on Saturday!! Eek!

Hope you are all having a great week so far! It's been a tiring one for me, but I just discovered lavender latte's and they are so good! I have been drinking them all week!

Wednesday Wants

pink-tassel-earrings

This is one of those weeks that just seems to be flying by without me getting done all the things I am trying to get done. I can't believe it is already Wednesday! I got the WORST sunburn at the beach this past weekend (and I wore sunscreen, I swear!) so this week has been a struggle just to move around (it hurts to walk and to sit) which is definitely slowing down my "to do" list.

Hope you enjoy this week's Wednesday Wants. I am apparently really loving summer accessories at the moment... and that pineapple & flamingo addiction I've had is apparently still going strong.

See you back here on Friday, thanks for reading!

I am always on the lookout for cute coverups to wear around the pool/beach. I'm anchor obsessed, as you may have noticed, so I instantly fell in love with this Barbara Gerwit tunic cover-up. Fun fact: my friend and I realized that the day we shot these photos I had a total of SEVENTEEN anchors on me haha!

One thing I especially like about Barbara Gerwitt cover-ups are their fit. The slits on the sides go really high up the leg (hence why you would only ever wear this as a cover-up with swimsuit bottoms underneath) which make your legs look SO LONG. Deceptively long. Seriously. See the pic below of my friends and I in Vegas for an example of this!

Hope you all have a great start to the work week. Today after work a friend and I are having a "tourists in our own city" date. Do you guys ever do that? I find it is so easy to not see the "attractions" of your own city, so playing tourist for a day is a great way to get out and do that! This afternoon/tonight we are going to the Capilano Suspension Bridge for the first time. I am both excited, and absolutely terrified! Should be a great evening. Wish me luck! See you back here on Wednesday for this week's Wednesday Wants!

** Outside our hotel, the Monte Carlo, in Vegas. My legs look freakishly long (i think). Side note: how ridiculously gorgeous are my friends?!?! **

Clutch: Old. I am in love with this one though. This would also look gorgeous.

Anyone who knows me knows I am anchor OBSESSED. I actually have a teeny tiny anchor tattoo on my wrist (I've posted a pic of it on instagram before if you want to see it!) Did you know that the anchor is the international symbol for hope? I love that!

I love this outfit for those early spring days or late summer days where you want to be outside constantly... but need a light sweater to stay warm.

This Friday could NOT have come soon enough! I am so looking forward to this weekend! It is supposed to be gorgeous weather here in Vancouver (yay!!) so I am so excited to go for my first patio brunch of the season (mimosasssssss!) and to spend time walking along the sea wall. Wherever you are wonderful readers, I hope your weather is finally starting to turn to spring!
