This dress was my first Theory purchase, and I cannot sing it's praises highly enough! The quality is evident from the moment you touch the material. This has easily become my favorite new work dress.

I love the subtle green-black-blue print of the dress as well. I decided to pair it with similar tones, so I went with my green-blue handbag and my navy blue suede slingbacks. Gold accessories polished the look off. I love doing bracelet stacks for the office.

In other news, last night sucked. If you follow me on instagram or twitter you know that Mode Media - one of the biggest blogger agencies in North America - filed for bankruptcy yesterday; leaving thousands of bloggers out thousands of dollars.

It's a really scary feeling that you can sign a contract, do work and then never actually get paid. I am definitely in shock and still trying to process the whole  thing. If you are a fellow Mode media blogger - my condolences (virtual hugs all around). It's a good time to reflect upon your finances & hopefully we'll all come out of this stronger!

I hope you all have an awesome weekend, whatever you plan on doing. See you back here on Monday!

Navy & Pink

These pink pants were a purchase I made last week with the thought process of: "oh ya summer?! you think you're over?! Not a chance. I'll show you... I'll buy summer clothes to wear; take that!!"

Unsurprisingly, mother nature did not bend to my thought process, and indeed the summer weather here has come to an end. So; that meant styling these hot pink pants in a way that worked for fall. My favorite navy blazer and these suede navy pumps seemed like a great way to do that.

I really love the combination of navy & pink for early fall, so this is probably not the last you'll be seeing of this color combo here on the blog. (... in fact, if you follow me on instagram, you may have seen that I caved and bought this in hot pink). I have a hot pink addiction right now!

Blazer // Pants c/o (exact color sold out, but many options available) // Shoes // Similar Handbags: (1), (2), (3)

Pink pants that are work appropriate?! My inner 13 year old is freaking. right. out. I fell in love with these pants the moment I saw them. Unfortunately they are a bit big on me (Definitely order one size down) but I like them so much that I don't mind.

Pale pink/blush is probably my favorite wear-to-work color (see two of my other favorite outfits here & here). I love how well it pairs with both black & grey and how it adds a touch of femininity to traditional office wear.

I'm only in court for the morning session today, so my weekend actually starts at 12:30! I'm having an "adventure day" with my group of girlfriends and I could not be more excited. Follow along on instagram if you want to see the activities and shenanigans we get up to as I'm sure I'll post instagram stories. Have a great Friday everyone, and see you back here Monday morning!

Bow Shift Dress

Boden blue dress with bow

This dress has become a go-to for me for this summer. I love the loose fit - I can feel comfortable and work appropriate. What sold me on the dress though, of course, was the tiny bow detailing at the chest. It adds a touch of femininity and interest to a basic shift silhouette.

This dress is also great because while it works for the summer, I also plan to wear it to work this fall with opaque black tights and ankle booties. This is the definition of an all season item in my books!

In other news, I've got an awesome giveaway going on on my instagram right now! I generally *hate* "loop" giveaways, but this is just me & 9 blogger friends so it's much less work to enter. I hope you like it... I am personally obsessed with the wallet we are giving away!

Polka Dot Top

 Top c/o // Pants // Heels c/o - I also love the flats version // Similar Handbags: (1), (2), (3)

This polka dot top adds so much fun to my work wardrobe. I love that the modest cut and the flutter sleeves. Pairing it with navy and grey seemed to be the perfect way to style it for a day at the office.

 I'm not comfortable wearing open-toed shoes to work, especially when most days I am in court, but I found that these sling backs felt both work appropriate but also more summery than traditional closed-toe pumps. I think closed-toe slingbacks will be something I reach for a lot this summer!

I had a relaxing, low-key weekend (it was rainy *again* here in Vancouver) so I feel pretty ready for the work week ahead. I hope you all are ready for the day - I am sending some kick-ass, you-got-this, let's-do-this vibes your way!

The Perfect Summer Dress

Dress c/o // Shoes // Handbag (under $25!) // Hat // Celine Sunglasses Dupes (under $20!): here & here // Necklace c/o // Lipstick (in "JuJu")

This may just be the perfect dress. A crisp white shirt dress is such a versatile piece. You can style it for the office or, as I did here, for a more casual weekend look. This particular dress is great for a number of reasons:

1) It has pockets (If you saw my facebook yesterday, you
    understand my love of pockets haha);
2) It has hidden buttons between each button on the chest
    (in other words, the dreaded 'gapping' is not a problem) and;
3) The length. This dress is cut just long enough to be work
    day appropriate (score!)

I also have to share my excitement over these Celine dupes. The Celine "baby audrey" sunglasses have been the "it" item all summer. Finding affordable look-a-likes was thus hugely exciting for me.

I hope you all had an amazing weekend (and to my American readers - Happy Independence Day!). I am so happy to finally be celebrating summer here in Vancouver. I am back at work today, but am already planning a beach bbq for after work this week. Bring on the sun, sand, and ice cold drinks!
