Stores are starting to roll out their 2016 fall fashion and I am in LOVE with so many items. (Despite the fact, I have to add, that we only started getting summer weather here in Vancouver about a week ago. ugh. haha)

This week's wants are my favorite pieces (so far) for fall 2016 from my go to stores for office wear. I love the trends this season - from wide leg pants, to detailed shirts, to so. much. texture. It's going to be a great season for fashion!

Summer in Stripes

 I bought this embellished striped pencil skirt last summer and was so excited to wear it again this season. I feel in love with it as soon as I saw the jewel detailing. Because the skirt is a pretty "loud" item, I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit relatively simple. I paired the skirt with my favorite white tank & favorite nude pumps. I went with a pale pink handbag to compliment the pink tones in the jewels. 

Lately I have been opting for a low ponytail hairstyle 9 mornings out of 10. I miss my blowout style, (see my post on how I get a 3 day blowout here if you missed it), but it has been so hot that I just want to pull my hair off my neck. At least a low pony is low maintenance and I can get through my day without worrying about my hair!
 
Something about this summer weather just makes me feel so much more productive at work. I am happy to get to work early and get stuff done so that I can hit the beach in the evening without worrying. One of my favorite perks about living in Vancouver is being able to go the beach after work. I hope you all have a productive & fun day.

Must Try Trend: The Wrap Skirt

Wrap skirts have been everywhere this spring, and I have had my eye on a couple for the past few weeks. I stumbled across this navy one at Winners and had to buy it. The color & length are perfect for work, but the faux wrap look takes this pencil skirt from boring to stylish and on-trend.

I definitely recommend the wrap skirt trend as one of this season's trends to actually incorporate into your wear-to-work wardrobe. Trends can be tricky- especially when it comes to wearing them to the office - but wrap skirts are definitely work appropriate.

The combination of ruffles & pleats is so feminine; I cannot stop wearing this effortless spring work look! This dark green skirt is such a pretty color and it works so well paired with crisp white & rose gold!

The weather here has been so beautiful lately; perfect for wearing midi skirts to work. While I am primarily a pants girl (you may have noticed my love for skinny work pants here, here & here haha) it is nice to add something different to my work wardrobe. Do you wear midi skirts to work?

Must Have Midi Skirt & a Giveaway!

I have been so eagerly waiting for the weather to get nice enough to wear this beautiful skirt. I finally got to wear it last week for a coffee date with a friend, and I received so many compliments on it!

It's a perfect multi-tasking wardrobe item. It can be worn to work or as a casual look. Worn with a basic white button down, like my look here, and it's perfect for a spring or summer work day. For a more casual look try it with a navy & white striped cotton tee and some white sneakers.

We are in full-on spring/summer here in Vancouver. It was 21 degrees Celsius yesterday, and has been incredibly sunny (as you can tell from these photos!) That means you'll be seeing a lot more spring and summer outfit inspiration here on LLB. I am officially in love with bow ties! I have been wanting to branch out and try styling a bow tie for a while now and I am so glad I finally did. 

I decided to counter balance the masculinity of a bow tie by wearing all white and going for a feminine skirt. I got this skirt a couple of weeks ago using EBates. Have you heard of Ebates?! I can't believe it took me this long to get on the Ebates bandwagon.

Feeling British

I have a serious love for elbow patches.This amazing blazer combined with the plaid pencil skirt made me feel oh-so-British, and I could not have been happier! Maybe it's all the Downton Abbey I've been watching lately? All I know is I am craving everything that reminds me of the British countryside. In the cooler weather I often wear my work pencil skirts with a sweater & a blazer for added warmth. You still look polished and professional, but are quite cozy!

I hope you all have had a good work week! It was a weird one for me - with courts closed on Wednesday for Remembrance Day and a lot of client meetings as opposed to actual court work. I did get to spend a LOT of time this week on the blog and other blog-related undertakings though, and I can't wait for the next 2 months of LegalLee Blonde! I have some really cool companies to introduce you to and some really fun posts. This Monday's post is particularly exciting so I hope to see you back here then!

It's not every season in fashion that we have so many trends for just one particular clothing item. This fall is the exception to that. There are a number of trends for Fall/Winter 2015 for skirts. I picked the above 9 skirts as they are my favourites that match this season's trends. The biggest trends for skirts this season- and styles you should definitely try out - are:

I can't believe tomorrow is already October! I could not be more excited- October is definitely my favourite month. Tonight I plan on making an "October To Do List" (I am so type A it is scary haha). There are so many fun things to do that I want to make sure I don't forget anything! So far at the top of my list are going apple picking with my goddaughters, baking apple and pumpkin pies, and celebrating two of my closest friends birthdays.

This might be the most fun outfit I’ve ever worn. I seriously just want to spin & dance around constantly while in this gorgeous tulle skirt!! I have noticed tulle skirts gaining in popularity, so I wanted to do a post on them. They may seem a bit intimidating (…aren’t I going to look ridiculous walking around in public in that?!) but trust me they are actually super fun to style and I get stopped and complimented on this skirt every time i wear it out!

The key to wearing a tulle skirt is to wear something very fitted on top (to balance the poofy-ness of the skirt) and, unless you have Victoria’s Secret model legs (*sigh*) wear some highhhhh heels to elongate your legs.

My favourite ways to wear tulle skirts are to play up the girlie 1950’s vibe (like I did here) or to combine this super feminine item with something masculine (think pleather or denim). I will do another post in the next few weeks to show you an example of styling it like that!
