For this week's work outfit I wanted to go back to basics - classic colors and silhouettes. This tweed shift dress from Nordstrom perfectly fits the bill. I love the added touch of a jewelled collar. A merino wool cardigan is a perfect touch to add to a shift dress. Comfortable but still office appropriate. And you can't get much more classic than kitten heels! 

For this week's weekend look I wanted something a bit boho. I found this baby doll dress and love the color/print. The baby doll cut is a unique touch (and perfect to hide a food baby if you're stuffing your face at brunch like I plan to do in this dress). The boho vibe of the dress pairs perfectly with tassel booties and a y-necklace. I also can't get enough of these open statetment rings. The turquoise is a cool contrast to the orange of the dress.

Put a Bow On It

I have the hardest time finding pencil skirts I like. Something about the shape just never works for my body type. So, when I found this exposed zipper skirt I fell head-over-heels in love. The zipper allows you to make the slit as high or as low as you like which, I found, helps me make it sit better on my body. Win! Ps. I got this skirt using Ebates. You NEED to be using this program if you aren't! You click through to your favorite stores websites via the Ebates site and then you get cash back on all your purchases. No catches, they just mail you a cheque with your cash back. I use it every time I shop online and love it!

I also really like this olive bow blouse. Lace up tops are everywhere this season, but this is the first time I have found one that is work appropriate. It's a great compliment to the pencil skirt and the black and crocodile print heels! A perfect work day look! 

In other news, I am heading out on vacation tomorrow afternoon for a week and a half. I'm off to Toronto to visit friends and then heading to Aruba with my mother for a week. I am very much looking forward to it, though I *may* have gone a bit overboard on my book shopping... (see my instagram story for more haha)

Navy & Pink

These pink pants were a purchase I made last week with the thought process of: "oh ya summer?! you think you're over?! Not a chance. I'll show you... I'll buy summer clothes to wear; take that!!"

Unsurprisingly, mother nature did not bend to my thought process, and indeed the summer weather here has come to an end. So; that meant styling these hot pink pants in a way that worked for fall. My favorite navy blazer and these suede navy pumps seemed like a great way to do that.

I really love the combination of navy & pink for early fall, so this is probably not the last you'll be seeing of this color combo here on the blog. (... in fact, if you follow me on instagram, you may have seen that I caved and bought this in hot pink). I have a hot pink addiction right now!

The combination of ruffles & pleats is so feminine; I cannot stop wearing this effortless spring work look! This dark green skirt is such a pretty color and it works so well paired with crisp white & rose gold!

The weather here has been so beautiful lately; perfect for wearing midi skirts to work. While I am primarily a pants girl (you may have noticed my love for skinny work pants here, here & here haha) it is nice to add something different to my work wardrobe. Do you wear midi skirts to work?
