I cannot get enough of these Kate Spade floral heels. I have worn them to court quite a few times in the past few weeks and people compliment them every single time! If you work in an environment where you are more restricted as to what you can wear (ie. the land of black suits lol) shoes are a great way to add some personal style to your outfit.

I also love adding a bold handbag to my work outfits whenever I can. This pink Michael Kors is actually my mother's, but luckily she lets me borrow it! My mom has incredible style (you can see posts from her here & here if you missed them!)

In other news, I am trying out a spin cycle class after work tonight with a friend. It is a new instructor at a new studio here in Vancouver, so I am a bit nervous but looking forward to a good workout. I've only ever done spin class once before, so hopefully it isn't too intense! I'm trying to expand my workouts lately and try new things- other than just dancing & running. What workouts do you all like? Any recommendations for things I should try? Let me know!

Wednesday Wants: #NSale Handbags & Jewelry

The #NSale is still going strong, and so this week my wants are handbags and jewelry from the sale that are work day appropriate and right on trend for this fall. I am especially in love with rose gold & shades of burgundy for fall. How great is that Aubergine side pocket handbag?! So practical and so chic.

The Nordstrom sale has only 5 days left, so if you want to get any of these items at their discounted prices, be sure to order them ASAP! I'll be sharing my purchases with you guys later in the week - including telling you which items I did *not* like, so stay tuned for that.

Happy shopping everyone! I plan on doing one last NSale shop later today or tomorrow. Who am I kidding, it will be tomorrow- this week is just flying by me! Having a 3 day weekend (as great as they are) always seems to just make the rest of the work week insanely busy. I did manage to utilize the extra long weekend to get a bunch of work week prep done though! If you follow me on twitter you know what I mean! (delicious food.... i mean delicious fooooood, haha.) Have a great day readers!

I wore this outfit this past weekend for the Deighton Cup - an annual horse racing event here in Vancouver. I was really excited to finally have an opportunity to wear this Kate Spade dress I got a few months back. The mint color is even prettier in person! I think it would be a perfect dress for a fancy brunch or bridal shower.

I decided to add this gorgeous hat by MARIA CURCIC MILLINERY to the outfit because, honestly, how many occasions do you have to get dress up and wear a hat!? I loved getting to wear it! One thing that is really cool about MARIA CURCIC MILLINERY is that they have a hat rental program so that (if you are local) you can rent hats for events instead of buying. Such a great way to accessorize for a fancy event without a commitment.

This week has been a whirlwind so far! Monday & Tuesday I was on vacation with my best friend and goddaughters (follow my twitter to see some hilarious fashion related tweets courtesy of my 7 year old god daughter!! haha) and so Wednesday & Thursday were nuts at work. Today should be equally crazy, but, at least it's a Friday! Plus we are FINALLY getting some sunshine & summer weather here in Vancouver!

The Off-the-Shoulder Top You Need to Own

Top // Shorts // Shoes // Monogram Necklace // Rose Gold Ring

Taking a break from work wear today to show you an 'off duty' look that I have been loving lately. I have to admit; I bought these Kate Spade glitter keds the moment I saw them. I may be thirty now (yikes by the way!?) but my inner child absolutely refuses to let me give up glitter anytime I can find a way to wear it and still look like an adult.

But I digress. Today what I really wanted to talk about was the off the shoulder shirt trend. This trend is everywhere. Unlike my instant love for my glitter keds, I did not like off-the-shoulder tops... until this one. Off-the-shoulder, as a general trend, does not provide a lot of coverage/support to your chest- a big problem in my books. I also *despise* any clothing that I have to fiddle with or pull at all day long. This style almost always require you to pull (up or down, depending on the shirt) every few minutes in order to keep the shirt sitting where it should.

Not this top. This top is AWESOME. The
thin straps that are added to this top are a definite fashion game changer. They allow the look of a flowy off-the-shoulder sleeve, but the shirt stays in place all day long. I also love the sweetheart cut to the chest - which is much more flattering than the straight across cut of most off-the-shoulder tops.

What do you all think of the off-the-shoulder trend? And do you think this particular style makes the trend more wearable? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Happy (almost) weekend everyone!

Pink Party Dress

 Dress c/o // Similar Heels (1), (2), (3) // Handbag // Similar Rings (1), (2) // Nail Polish

I really believe that every woman's closet needs that one fun party dress that just makes her smile. This Shabby Apple dress is definitely that piece for me. It has a very "Kate Spade vibe" (without the KS price tag!) and it fits like a glove. Such a win!

Since I am usually in work wear, when I do step out of the corporate fashion bubble, I like to really break from it. I, therefore, love choosing bold colors like this bright pink. I definitely plan on wearing this dress to a few day time parties this summer.

When I do break out a stand out piece like this dress, I try to keep my accessories neutral. I picked up these Kate Spade low strap mary jane's at Winners a few weeks ago and I can't get enough of them. They are the perfect compliment to any bold outfit (work-day wise or party wise).

It poured rain here all weekend so a lot of my fun weekend plans got rained out. It definitely did not leave me in the best head space to start this work week, but, I am trying to start today with a positive attitude (and a very large cup of coffee). Here's to a great week ahead!

Spring Florals & a Polette Giveaway

I've been a huge fan of Polette glasses for a long time, (you can read my first review of them here), but these ones take the cake. They are definitely my new favorite accessory! The light gold frames are perfect for spring. Polette is an online optician that offer's designer frames from $6.99-$49.99 with anti-reflective and anti-scratch coated lens options as well.

As you know from last week's post, I love to make my work looks more spring-like with the top I choose to wear. This Kate Spade top is feminine and I love the big floral print. For work I wear this with a blazer on top; but it's great to bare some shoulder (and get some sun!) over the lunch hour.

Today I am giving one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of glasses or sunnies from Polette! Enter below for your chance to win any frames of your choosing (open to US & Canadian residents 18+, for full general details about my rafflecopter giveaways see this post)

Have a great weekend everyone! I've got a fairly low-key weekend planned, unfortunately I have to work a fair bit to get on top of my case load for work next week, but I definitely plan on getting at least a bit of sunshine relaxation in!

Wednesday Wants: Spring Handbags

I have a lot, and I mean a lot, of black handbags. Doing some spring cleaning this weekend I realized that almost every bag I own is black. I realized, therefore, that this season I really need to get a few good spring and summer handbags.

There are so many gorgeous options for spring bags- and the above are my favourites. The best part is that all but two of these bags are under $100! I think I'll be getting the Kate Spade ice cream bag and the gold chain cross body. Which bag is your favourite? Any spring handbags you love that I should be adding to this list!?

It may be Wednesday already, but I am still recovering from an insanely busy weekend (I need to catch up on sleep!). I did some shopping this weekend and finally picked up these sandals that I have been swooning over for weeks!

Have a great day everyone. See you back here on Friday for a really unique (and totally fun to shoot) outfit post!

Happy Wednesday everyone! It doesn't feel like Wednesday since we had a holiday Monday (here in B.C.) so it's nice to be in the midst of only a four day work week! I am already so excited for next weekend because 3 friends and I are headed off to Squamish Music Festival! There are so many great bands playing, but I am most excited to see: Milky Chance,Vance Joy, Scott Helman, James Bay & Mumford and Sons. Have you heard that Scott Helman song "Bungalow"?! Man oh man, it is definitely one of my favorite summer songs!
