A work day little black dress (yeah that's right - I felt the need to acronym that into WDLBD haha) is a wardrobe essential. A black dress will always be a great choice for the office - it is a classic, professional look.

This peplum dress is the perfect WDLBD for many reasons. First, the length is entirely work appropriate. Second, the sweetheart neckline and peplum detail add a fashionable, trendy element to this classic piece. Finally, I love the material of this dress - while it is tight fitted, it is quite thick and so avoids the dreaded 'body-con-at-work' look.

I am on such a rose gold kick right now, so I paired this WDLBD with rose gold accessories that, again, work for the office. I love my rose gold watch - it is one of most worn items at work. Because I can't always have my cell phone on me (the challenge of being a courtroom lawyer) I definitely like to have a watch at all times.

In other news, I got back into Vancouver yesterday after my vacation at my parents. I'm pretty excited to be back at work (I really love being a lawyer) but I already miss my nieces & nephews. It is certainly tough living away from all my little munchkins! I had a blast with them this past week. Did you catch my instagram story of my niece making fun of me for taking selfies?! The kid cracks me up!! Have a great day everyone!

Spring Florals & a Polette Giveaway

I've been a huge fan of Polette glasses for a long time, (you can read my first review of them here), but these ones take the cake. They are definitely my new favorite accessory! The light gold frames are perfect for spring. Polette is an online optician that offer's designer frames from $6.99-$49.99 with anti-reflective and anti-scratch coated lens options as well.

As you know from last week's post, I love to make my work looks more spring-like with the top I choose to wear. This Kate Spade top is feminine and I love the big floral print. For work I wear this with a blazer on top; but it's great to bare some shoulder (and get some sun!) over the lunch hour.

Today I am giving one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of glasses or sunnies from Polette! Enter below for your chance to win any frames of your choosing (open to US & Canadian residents 18+, for full general details about my rafflecopter giveaways see this post)

Have a great weekend everyone! I've got a fairly low-key weekend planned, unfortunately I have to work a fair bit to get on top of my case load for work next week, but I definitely plan on getting at least a bit of sunshine relaxation in!

what-to-wear-to-work-fall-2015

My obsession with blush and rose gold has clearly carried into the fall. How stunning is that necklace?! Unfortunately that can't be ordered from Canada so I am going to have to put that on my "next time I'm in the states" wishlist!

It's been a busy work week so far, and I am really excited to be heading to a dance class tonight after work. I have been slacking (hard) on my workouts the past 2 months and as well have been missing the "therapy" that dance class brings me! Tonight should be a much needed physical and mental refresh! Anyone have any tips on staying workout motivated throughout the fall; please share 'em with me!!!

See you back here on Friday; in the meantime, have a great week!

Leopard Print for Spring

Blazer: Ever New. Very Similar: here.

Blouse: Similar: here and here
Pants: H&M
Bag: Michael Kors
Shoes: Old. Similar: here

Lipstick: NARS "Anita" (by far my favourite lipstick ever)
Nail Polish: Essie "Ballet Slippers" (a great colour for work)

Without fail, leopard print is a trend every fall. Then, it mysteriously disappears from everyone's wardrobe for the next 6 months. This makes no sense to me. Leopard can still be perfect for spring if you pair it with lighter colours- creams, tans, and whites. Today's work outfit hopefully gives you all some inspiration for digging that leopard print out of your closet for spring.

I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready to take on this week!! If, like me, you're not so much "ready" as you are "entirely ready for sleep instead" try out this ridiculously amazing coffee from my post here. That is definitely what I am going to be doing this morning!! haha.
