Wednesday Wants: #NSale Handbags & Jewelry

The #NSale is still going strong, and so this week my wants are handbags and jewelry from the sale that are work day appropriate and right on trend for this fall. I am especially in love with rose gold & shades of burgundy for fall. How great is that Aubergine side pocket handbag?! So practical and so chic.

The Nordstrom sale has only 5 days left, so if you want to get any of these items at their discounted prices, be sure to order them ASAP! I'll be sharing my purchases with you guys later in the week - including telling you which items I did *not* like, so stay tuned for that.

Happy shopping everyone! I plan on doing one last NSale shop later today or tomorrow. Who am I kidding, it will be tomorrow- this week is just flying by me! Having a 3 day weekend (as great as they are) always seems to just make the rest of the work week insanely busy. I did manage to utilize the extra long weekend to get a bunch of work week prep done though! If you follow me on twitter you know what I mean! (delicious food.... i mean delicious fooooood, haha.) Have a great day readers!

Wednesday Wants: Tropical

summer style palm print

summer fashion trends prints

I have been craving all things summer lately. Maybe because it has been the opposite here in Vancouver lately?! haha. Seriously, it has been pouring rain and freezing- ugh!

Luckily, tropical items make me smile no matter how rainy it is outside! I have always been obsessed with palm trees, starfish & anchors. My mom recently found some old school notebooks of mine (from the 3rd grade) and sure enough they are covered with doodles of palm trees haha.

I hope you are all having a great week and that these tropical items bring a smile to your face. I think i'm going to pull the trigger and buy that palm print phone case today.

Top 5 Jewelry Trends for 2016 (plus a 15% off deal!)

trends-in-jewellery-2016

This week I've been focusing a lot on jewelry, which had me thinking about the trends in jewelry this year. As such, I decided that for today's post I would provide a list of the top 5 trends in jewelry for 2016! Be sure to scroll through my favorite 'picks' for each trend, and you'll see a discount for 15% off some items!

Top 5 Jewelry Trends for 2016

1. Statement Earrings:

Statement Earrings were all the rage at New York Fashion Week this year. Everyone from Dolce & Gabbana, to Oscar De La Renta, to Gucci used statement earrings to complete their Spring/Summer looks.

Some of my favorite statement earrings available right now are:

2. Chokers:

It is no secret that the 90's have been back in style for some time now. This year, the 90's trend is extending into accessories, with chokers and amulet style necklaces making a big comeback. The 2016 chokers and amulets are all about the material - be that silks, or heavy metals. Below are my favorites:

 3. Body Chains:

These have been in style for the past year or so, but only now are they making an appearance as something to be worn not just to the beach or to a night club. The materials are also getting thicker and more bold - a far cry from the delicate gold chains we saw everywhere last summer. Below are my top picks:

4. Anklets:

Again with the 90's! I think this may be the trend I most excited about for this spring/summer. I loved wearing anklets in the 90's and feel nostalgic just thinking about getting to wear them again. Though I do think this time my choices will have less "ying-yangs" and half heart "BFF" charms haha. Below are my favorites:

5. Brooches:

I also really love this trend. Brooches always make me think of grace & class. I love that what has been seen as a 'grandma trend' is back in style. I will definitely be sporting brooches on my work looks this year. Below are my favorite brooches:

I hope you all have a great weekend ahead! In sticking with the simplicity theme thats been guiding my fashion choices lately, I'm going to try to have a relaxing weekend (a rarity for me). I hope to catch up on some work and start reading
a book I've been dying to read - A Discovery of Witches. Anyone read it?! What did you think?

See you all back here on Monday for another outfit post!
In the meantime, be sure to follow me on instagramtwitter & bloglovin!

Office Jewelry

Similar Dresses (1), (2) // Heels // Handbag (my favorite for work) // Jewelry c/o

Today I am teaming up with Vancouver based jewelry company Nobis & Grey to talk about jewelry for your work day. While I have done many posts on LegalLee Blonde talking about tips for what to wear to work (here), great colour combinations for office attire (here & here), and even my go-to court outfit (here); I realized i have yet to talk about accessorizing your office wear.

A lot of people are afraid to wear jewelry with professional outfits, and I think that is unnecessary! Young professionals especially, seem to want to accessorize their outfits and bring their personal style into their office wear. Jewelry done well can absolutely compliment a professional look.

With today's look I wanted to show that you CAN wear a lot of jewelry (I am wearing SIX different pieces here!) and still keep your look professional, if you consider certain tips. My tips on selecting jewelry for your office wear are:

1) Colors
For the office, stick with metal, crystal or one color. This is not the place to bust out your blue, pink, and yellow statement necklace or your neon tassel bracelets.

2) Material
While mixed metal can be a pretty look in your accessories, my general rule for the office is to wear all rose gold, all gold or all silver. This keeps the jewelry from competing with one another and allows you to wear more, while still remaining classic and office appropriate.

3) The rule of two
Two places. That's where you should have jewelery for work. Ie. bracelets and rings, as I have done here, or rings and necklace, etc. I, personally, don't count simple earrings in the rule of two, but if you are going with a dangling statement earring then I would say to stick only to one other jewelry location. As I am wearing a lot of jewelry here, I decided to stick to rings and bracelets.

4) Functionality
Do you spend a lot of time at computer? If so, let's be real, charm bracelets or other loose bracelets are going to drive you legitimately insane. Better to stick with cuffs, like the ones I am wearing here, that will not interfere with your day-to-day lifestyle.

Nobis & Grey is a really interesting company because they have a great balance between fun, bright jewelry pieces and simple, office appropriate ones. They are in the midst of re-vamping their website (hence why I didn't directly link each item I am wearing) so stay tuned for that!

I am excited to announce that LegalLee Blonde readers can get 30% off at Nobis & Grey with the below discount code. Happy shopping!

Happy Wednesday everyone! You'll notice some home decor items in this week's wants (how gorgeous are those pineapple jars?!) because home decor is taking over my brain this week as I plan to move in to my new condo on Saturday!! Eek!

Hope you are all having a great week so far! It's been a tiring one for me, but I just discovered lavender latte's and they are so good! I have been drinking them all week!

Wednesday Wants - Black & White

Striped Dress (under $15!!)
Scarf (love the pom pom detailing!)

Happy Wednesday readers! Maybe its been the overload of bright things I have been interested in lately, but this week I have found myself completely drawn to all things black and white. The clean crisp look of black and white is often forgotten in the summer months, but I still love it!

I have had a busy week so far - my schedule has been full of dance rehearsals as I have a big dance show at the end of the month. I hope your week has been going well too! If you need a little chuckle just look at how bad the photoshopping of the striped dress image is... no human arm should look like that!! I almost didn't include it simply because of that image; but I love the dress so I guess we are stuck with this freaky looking picture ha.

Also, just a reminder that I made a LegalLee Blonde Facebook page this weekend, and would love if you could "like" it here

Wednesday Wants

Happy Wednesday everyone! How is everyone's week going?  I was so busy the last two weeks (working days in court, then night court, and then weekend bail court) so I took a "long weekend" and visited my sister in Northern British Columbia this past Saturday to Monday night.  It was so great to see everyone - except we all got sick! Needless to say, we were a house full of sickies, all cooped up watching movies and drinking tea.

Being sick had me dreaming of summer when people aren't always getting colds so today's Wednesday Wants are full of summery things - from pineapples, to stripes to bright colours. Hope you enjoy them! Wish me luck on kicking this cold's butt ASAP!

Wednesday Wants

spring fashion ideas

spring style ideas

Happy Wednesday!! You guys, it is the last week of February!?! Ahh! How the heck did that happen?! My mom has now headed back to Ontario after what seemed like a way-too-short visit! I am however looking forward to spending some down time just reading and watching tv. I am a couple of episodes behind on both Girls and The Mindy Project so catching up on them with a giant cup of tea sounds pretty awesome right now!

1. J Crew Striped Tee:
I love all things nautical for the summer and I like the addition of the chest pocket on this tee.

2. H&M Bracelet Set:
So cute for spring and summer and super affordable.

3. NARS "Audacious" in "Anita": My friend Bree recently recommended this lipstick. I love the colour, and according to Bree it stays well (no smudging) and despite being a matte is actually not drying at all! So excited to try this for spring.

4. J Crew Gold Dip-Dyed Tote: I just love this tote! What a great shopping around bag! I can totally picture walking down the street with a bunch of tulips sticking out of it.

5. My Heart Belongs to Coffee PJ Set: Haha I got quite the laugh out of this forever 21 pj set. As a coffee addict I figured this is rather perfect.

6. LOFT Striped Chambray Dress: Stripes and chambray are too of my favourite spring trends- so pairing them together in one dress?? Yes please!!

7. Ann Taylor 2-in-1 Top: I LOVED the trend this winter of sweaters with faux shirt tails hanging out, so when I saw this summery version of the same trend I immediately fell in love with it. Such a polished classic item.

Wednesday Wants

Another Wednesday is upon us! I love doing Wednesday Wants because it always adds some cheer to what is, let's face it, the crappiest day of the week. It's like the toast of the food world. blah. Thank you all for checking out this week's wants, I hope you find some items you love!

1. Kendra Scott Rose Gold Ring: I have been seeing Kendra Scott pieces popping up on fashion blogs a lot over the past few months, but they have never quite caught my eye. This piece however is the first one that I absolutely adore and can't wait to get my hands on! (...and my apologies to any of my readers who are sick of my rose gold kick haha)

2. ASOS Giraffe Print Shorts: Oh my gosh. I am in love. I spent a few months working in East Africa in 2012 and I am now obsessed with any sort of African prints.

3. Tuxedo Stripe Pants: Definitely just found my newest work pants. win.

4. Nike Pink Runners: In my opinion, the more fun and awesome the workout clothes, the easier it is to motivate yourself to work out. Love these.

5. Long Sleeve Romper: Such a perfect romper for spring nights out. Add a statement necklace and some rocking heels and you're good to go!

6. Red Mini Skirt: As I've said before, texture/fabric is everything for me when it comes to fashion. I cannot get over the sheen to this mini skirt and definitely want to add it to my closet!

7. Forest Green Blouse: How perfect is this blouse for work?! Not low cut, just enough sparkle, a deep (read: conservative) hue.. definitely want to wear this to work - I could even pair it with those tuxedo stripe pants!

8. Lace Paneled Jump Suit: Again, such a perfect item for spring evenings. This would make such a fun girls night out outfit, or a date night outfit!

Wednesday Wants

Happy Wednesday everyone! My good friend Kristi is getting married this May and I spent this past weekend visiting her and going to a wedding show. Almost everything is ready for the wedding EXCEPT she needs her accessories! She mentioned to me this weekend the challenge of finding wedding accessories that are not completely cheap (read: tacky and breakable), but that are affordable. Of course I couldn't hear that and not go on my own search. I decided, therefore, to dedicate today's Wednesday Wants to Kristi. Of course, many of these items are just flat out awesome items that could be worn in every day life, so be sure to check them all out!

Here's a brief summary of why I picked the above items. Kristi's "wants" for her accessories are:
- no necklace
- bracelet and earrings

- preferably a cuff bracelet
- bracelet can't "jingle"
- heels
- Blue incorporated into either the jewelry or the heels
- affordable, but long-lasting / good quality

P.S. Wedding item hunting is super duper fun. Can I pretty please retire and just plan weddings all day!?!?

1. Diamond Cuff Bracelet: This stunning bracelet would add a killer amount of sparkle and is under $100. If sparkle is what you are going for, this bracelet nails it.

2. Diamond & Sapphire Tennis Bracelet:
I love, love, love diamonds and dark sapphire's together. They feel extremely royal to me (Princess Diana and Kate Middleton are probably to blame for that!) so I love them together for weddings. This tennis bracelet screams elegance to me.

3. Navy Steven Madden Strappy Heels: Kristi is going for a "rustic enchanted forest" wedding theme, so I like the idea of suede shoes instead of the typical satin. Suede feels like a more natural, 'rustic' choice.

4.
Royal Blue Badgley Mischka Heels: For the standard satin blue wedding shoe, these are the bomb. Badgley Mischka shoes are high quality, durable and I found these for wayyy under their usual cost- only $134.

5. MAC Lipstick: Just had to throw this in here. I am in LOVE with this lipstick in the "japanese maple" shade. It is the perfect neutral which I think would look great on Kristi for her wedding. Anyone looking for a long lasting, non-dry/flakey lipstick in a neutral, do yourself a favour and get this!

6. 1/4 Carat Diamond Studs:
You can't get more classic than diamond studs. They are an investment, of course, but you'll never get sick of wearing diamond studs- they are literally the most versatile piece of jewelery you could own. I definitely would recommend to any bride to consider investing in a pair. Given budget concerns I found this pair which are a great deal - $225 for 1/4 carat studs.

7. Blue Gem Bracelet:
Such an elegant item. The detailing and pale blue colour seem "enchanted" to me, so I had to include it as a potential item for this "rustic enchanted forest" themed wedding.

8. Laura Mercier Blush:
THIS BLUSH. Seriously this is the greatest blush of all time. I adore this pale pink shade and the slight colour it gives is perfect for a subtle wedding look.

9. Blue Topaz & Diamond Drop Earrings:
I think Kristi is leaning towards studs for her wedding, but for anyone wanting drop earrings I cannot get over these bad boys. I love the colour blocking.

10. Blue Topaz & Diamond Accent Studs:
A gorgeous, simple, classic stud that just adds a subtle amount of blue.

11. Estee Lauder Foundation:
I recently started using this foundation and I am obsessed. It actually provides completely even but still natural looking coverage AND lasts all day (.. and I mean allll day which includes me running around the courthouse like a chicken with my head cut off for 8 hours).
