There is something so elegant about a turtleneck with a statement necklace. It's effortless work chic. I was channeling an Audrey Hepburn Funny Girl thing when I decided to pair the turtleneck with these pants. I love the look of a classic top with a statement pant. Audrey of course would have worn flats, but what can I say, nothing can tear me away from my pumps; NOTHING. #HeelsGirlForLife.

I am SO excited to tell you that it is (finally) easier to shop my posts. In addition to the links I always provide, the photos themselves are now click-able. In case you missed it last week (see here) I've changed my Wednesday Wants a bit - instead of a mix of items I want, I will be showing items that work together for both a work day outfit and a weekend outfit.

As you can see, right now I am really loving camel and burgundy tones - they have made their way into both my work and weekend outfit ideas for this week. The camel pencil skirt is such a wardrobe staple - I highly recommend it as it can be worn in any season. Pairing it with the bugundy handbag and gorgeous navy and burgundy silk bracelet make the outfit perfect for a fall day at the office. 

For this week's weekend look these jeans on sale are AMAZING. Paired with a turtleneck and plaid blanket scarf you have a chic but cozy weekend outfit. 

I am still coming down from the high of seeing the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge this past weekend (more on that here if you missed it). I was very inspired by Kate's bold outfit (red pumps!) and I will be incorporating bold colors and details into my outfits this fall as well.

Casual Friday & Silver Jeans Giveaway

I am all about capes right now. The weather in Vancouver is chilly; but not 'need-my-east-coast-winter-parka' kind of chilly, so I find myself reaching for capes quite often. I also love these Silver Jeans. They are my first ever pair from this brand, and I love the high waisted fit! After a long day in Court yesterday, I am very glad to be having a casual friday.

A couple of things to tell you all on this lovely Friday:

I have been wearing this skirt a lot lately (see this post). Pairing it with a turtleneck and statement necklace made for a fun work look that was comfortable all day long.This turtleneck is actually a body suit. They are the best thing to wear with pencil skirts - smooth lines and no uncomfortable bunching! I highly recommend body suits.

Grey Days & A Giveaway Announcement

I love combining different shades of the same color. It's an easy way to create a polished looking outfit, and is great for when you are lacking in outfit inspiration. Pair up a shirt/vest, or blouse/sweater in the same color family for an easy outfit. I have seen a lot of 'sleeveless coats' lately; but this one is a fav. I love the draped structure. Also- these boots!! I had been looking for months for a pair of OTK boots when I came across these for under $50. I was sold by the gold detailing!

I had such an amazing weekend. I went to a 90s dance party, spent a night with friends having a delicious homemade dinner and watching movies, and went to a Holiday tea event. Bring it on Monday!  A popular trend in women's office wear this season has been the introduction of 'office track pants'. This outfit is my take on how to best style them for work. I don't think they work as well with a structured blazer due to their relaxed fit, but I think they can be an appropriate choice for the office (and a comfortable one!) when paired with a fitted top.

 
I also must mention these gorgeous earrings from Happiness Boutique. I adore their statement necklaces and earrings! I was very pleased with the quality when I received these (so far they haven't tarnished at all and they don't give my ears that itchy feeling!) I would definitely recommend this online boutique!

To all my Canadian readers - happy thanksgiving!! I hope you have a day full of relaxation, family and food! I am attending a big potluck thanksgiving dinner at a friend's place tonight and cannot wait for it! I feel very thankful to have a diverse and pretty darn awesome group of friends.
