Emerald Green & New Years Resolutions

I love that corduroy is making a comeback, and this emerald green dress is the perfect way to show it off! The black velvet trim on the dress is the icing on the cake - making this dress perfect for day or night.

Personally, I love this dress for work -and have already worn it on two office/"in-meetings" days. Given the chilly temps, I have been wearing it with my fleece-lined tights. If you haven't purchased fleece lined tights yet, do yourself a favor and grab 2 or 3 pairs. These are the best invention, I wear them all winter long.

In other news, it's crazy to think that this is my last post of 2016. Like the rest of the known universe, I can't help but love all the "2016 has been a gong show, bring on 2017" memes. It certainly has been a rough year for the world, but I am excited for what lies ahead. I've been mulling over new years resolutions- but haven't locked them down yet. I always make a resolutions for both my personal life, my career and the blog.

Festive Work Wear

 I love wearing festive outfits to work throughout the holiday season, but I don't want my outfits to be cheesy or over the top. This red dress is the perfect work dress for the Christmas season. Paired with a statement necklace, it creates an outfit that is professional while still showing Christmas spirit. 

Camel is one of my favorite shades to wear with red, so to stay warm while wearing this red dress, I decided to pair it with a wool camel coat. Longer coats pair well with dresses and help keep you warm when commuting to and from work in a dress. I'm back in Ontario for the holidays right now, and have been having a great time. On deck for today is a lot of cooking! I need to make a couple of side dishes for both Christmas eve dinner and Christmas day dinner.... Which leads me to a question for you all - What are your favorite Christmas recipes?! Wednesday Wants

I swear I didn't plan for this week's looks to feature red & green; I realized it after the fact. The season has apparently worked it's way into my subconscious haha! I just love the Christmas season, and I love when my clothing is festive without being cheesy (if that makes sense). I think both these looks are perfect for the holidays!

For this week's work outfit I LOVE the emerald green blazer. Velvet is on trend right now and I wanted to make this blazer the focal point of the outfit. Add a statement necklace on top of the turtleneck and you've got a really stylish business casual outfit!

For this week's weekend outfit I wanted to feature this red peplum sweater. I love the jewel embellishments, and until this sweater I had never seen peplum on a sweater, just shirts. I think this look is festive and flattering (love peplums for that!) 

As of today, I am officially on Christmas break! *happy dance* .... correction, *christmas music happy dance* haha. I'm flying back to my parents today and am preparing myself for all the snow. They've got over a foot of snow on the ground, yikes! Are you, my awesome readers, on Christmas break yet??? Are you heading anywhere???

 During the holiday season my go to color, other than red, is pastel pink. I love the contrast it makes against all the holiday decor! In other news, I just booked a flight home to my parents place for the holidays. I head out on Wednesday. I am so excited to see all of my friends & family. Fair warning: this means my instagram stories will be overtaken by videos of my hilarious nieces & nephews. Over the summer I posted quite a few videos my niece Maia and I could not believe how many comments I got haha. She is HILARIOUS and had some great things to say about me taking selfies, which you guys loved! I can't wait to share more with you over the next week.

Wrapped in a Bow

I am in love with this dress. It is my obsession. If I could marry a piece of clothing, this would be it. (Too much? ha) I snagged this dress when it went on sale a couple of weeks ago, and the good news is there are still some left and the sale price is awesome. I recommend you get this dress stat!

The blouse sleeves on this dress are so soft and the entire dress is so comfortable. Paired with my black suede pumps and by Tory Burch bag, it has become a staple work day outfit for me. 

Another thing I am wearing that I am excited to share with you is my Maria Shireen hair tie bracelet. I have been seeing these bracelets around for a while now, and I have to say they live up to the hype! I have the silver, gold and rose gold and I wear one of the three to work almost every day! I love knowing I have a hair elastic in case my hair starts to bug me (that happens a lot haha). Plus, it looks way more professional than having a hair tie around your wrist. I highly recommend these bracelets to any working woman!

 One of my vices in life is definitely getting my hair and nails done (which you probably know if you've seen my lunchtime "I have an hour break from Court, so I'm getting my nails done" instagram stories haha). Sometimes you just need to grab a couple of little gifts for people without breaking the bank. I love finding gifts under twenty dollars that are still high quality, unique gifts that people will really love.

I can honestly say that I would personally love to receive every one of these items! The leopard infinity scarf is goregous and perfect for winter print mixing. The Olive & Piper jewellery is classic and well-made jewellery. Voluspa candles have been popular for a while, but I just love this two-wick shape and the beautiful color of this particular one. 

In my opinion every woman needs a beautiful phone case. This marble one is under  $10!! As far as other home accessories, the marble notebook is so chic, and the city skyline dish is perfect to display on a counter and hold your rings or earrings. 

I hope you're Christmas shopping is going well. Yesterday I spent a couple of hours by the fire wrapping Christmas presents (with a mug of hot chocolate with bailey's of course haha). It was so relaxing! I have a lot of little kids i'm buying for (...I have SEVEN nieces and nephews!) so I spent a lot of time struggling with wrapping the most oddly shaped boxes haha. WHY are kids toys always so strangely packaged?!
