It's Friday! Who else has had a crazy busy week!? I was slammed this week and routinely kept going straight from the office to my evening plans (sushi dinner with some girlfriends, a date, and a dinner for a women in leadership board I sit on). This inspired me to do an outfit post on going from the office to your night out without having to change much!

This is one of my FAVOURITE outfits for doing just that. I wear this dress to the office a lot (with black pumps and a blazer) and to take it from office to evening, all I do is add a fur vest, edgy ankle boots and some statement rings. Voila! I highly recommend this dress to everyone; it's affordable and a high quality material (it's thick and holds everything in place!)

What exciting plans do y'all have for this weekend? I am heading up to Northern B.C. (almost to the Alaskan border!!) to visit my sister, brother-in-law, and adorable niece and nephew. I am so excited to see them, as I only get to see them every couple of months. I anticipate a lot of cuddling, snow playing and hot chocolate drinking! <3

Gift Guide: Little Ones

Good morning everyone!!! I am so, so, excited to announce a new 'post-plan'. For the next 4 weeks instead of "Wednesday Wants" I will be showcasing a number of different "gift guides" for the people in your life. I worked so hard, and spent SO many hours scouring the internet to come up with my favourite gifts so I really appreciate you taking the time to read these and I hope you like them!

Without further ado, this week I am presenting Gift Guides for all the tiny humans in your life. I am so lucky to have 3 nieces, 2 nephews and 2 goddaughters; so starting with gift guides for little ones was an absolute no-brainer! 1.  Nordstrom Baby Bow Headbands: Squishhhhhh. <- that is all I want to do to a little munchkins cheeks while having them wear this adorable headbands.

2. Buffalo Plaid Mittens & Toque: These are so freaking cute. Trendy, and cute. 

3. Owl Bookends: People love buying books for baby's new library... why not go outside the box and get bookends?! These owls would look adorable in any nursery. 

4. Goodnight Moon: Such a classic. Every baby should have this book. I still have my copy of this book (from the '80s!!! *shudder*) and I bought this for my niece Maia for her first Christmas. 

5. Children's Place Outfit: I love giving sets as gifts- saves new (read: sleep deprived) mom's of putting together a baby outfit. The bows on this one are so sweet.

6. Monogrammed Dot Baby Blanket: This pottery barn blanket is so soft, comes in a ton of colours, and can be engraved with the baby's name. Love it. 

7. Children's Place Outfit: I can't get over the baby knee patches. Too much cute. 

8. Guess How Much I Love You Soft Book: Another classic that all nursery's should have. The importance of tactile learning among infants is huge, so giving them this soft crinkle book is perfect for baby's development.

1. Doodle-Track Race Car: I love that this combines the left-brain/right-brain dynamic by engaging boys' creative side in terms of where they doodle the race track. Great way to get boys thinking creatively. 

2. Fleece Jacket: So stylish.

3. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: My nephew Nick has always loved these books. Great for slightly older boys (I would say 8+) who are working on reading (and being read to) before bed. 

4. Striped Rugby Polo: A classic look. Would look so adorable paired with a puffer vest. 

5. Lightening Bolt Sweater: I grabbed this one for the gift guide the SECOND i saw it. What little boy wouldn't think a lightening bolt is SO cool!?! 

6. How to Train your Dragon 2: A popular movie among young kids, and definitely one of my favourite kid's films as of late (... sorry Frozen! haha)

7. Snow Markers: The perfect snow day activity. 

8. Batman Rain Coat: This would brighten any rainy day - who dislikes the rain when it means you get to dress like a super hero!?

1. Frozen Fleece PJs: Alright universe; I cave to the obsession that is Frozen. In so doing, however, I am insisting on finding high quality 'frozen' products for my "Frozen fans": my god-daughter Adelaide and niece Maia.

2. Lite Brite: I'm not gonna lie, I just got REALLY excited when I realized this was still a thing. Did anyone else LOVE this as a kid?! I am so getting these for my munchkins.. and playing it with them!

3. Leopard Print Jeggings: For the fashion-diva in your life. These are so stylin'. 

4. Bulldog Sweater: Just about the cutest, classiest graphic sweater I have seen for young girls.

5. "Elsa" Necklace: It's so pretty, young girls' will go nuts.

6. Crazy Forts: What kid doesn't love building forts?! This is such an awesome present. 

7. Outfit: How awesome is this outfit from Children's Place?! Perfect present for any mini-fashionista in your life. 

8. Goldi Blox 'Dunk Tank": I love the line of "Goldi Blox" products. If you haven't heard of them, check them out. They are company creating toys designed to keep girls interested in engineering. This "dunk tank" toy keeps girls creatively trying to build a dunk tank in order to get to the carnival on time. It teaches all about levers. Awesome. Let's keep our girls interested in math and science!

9. Gold Dot Jeggings: ...Do they make these for adults?! (... seriously...) These are the best.

Since it's a Monday, and we all need a little more fun in our Monday, I wanted to do a "fun" office wear post. I am linking up with my friend Tif at Bright on a Budget for this!

For my outfit, I am wearing my current favourite office look. It is so comfortable and the pattern on the pants makes the outfit pop. Also, I have to tell you all about this bag- I am OBSESSED with this bag. It comes in multiple colours (but I love this oxblood shade the best). It is the perfect bag for the busy young professional. It has plenty of room for your laptop and personal items and has a separate bottom compartment that you can keep shoes in!

Happy start of the weekend everyone! Plaid and camel has quickly become one of my go-to combinations this fall. I love this paper bag waist skirt from J Crew ( I wore it all summer in the kelly green version, like this) and find it the perfect combo to this plaid shirt. Topped off with some cognac coloured accessories and this is one easy fall outfit.

It should be a really fun night! Other than that this weekend promises a lot of girl time for me! Happy Wednesday loves! Hope you are all having a great week so far! I actually had time to do some shopping this past weekend so I am in clothing/decor heaven at the moment. Enjoy this week's Wednesday Wants! 

1. Trouve Mixed Media Top: I love, love, love, when items mix different fabrics. It creates such a glam look. This top would make an excellent addition to any closet.

2. Urban Outfitters Bow Dress: Bows. Need I say more?

3. Forever 21 Romper: I have been loving the fall romper trend lately, and I just adore the cut of this one. It would be perfect for a night out with black sheer pantyhose and ankle booties.

4. Forever 21 Plaid Shirt Dress: Forever 21 is just killin' it right now. This dress (for under $30) is simple and chic and can be styled so easily with cognac boots and a cozy scarf.

5. Roots Button Up Cardigan: Ahhh the iconic Roots print. Warms my Canadian heart. I love that they have created a cardigan in this material/look and I can't wait to snuggle up in this by a fire!

6. ChicNova Jewel Collared Blouse: I LOVE the idea of jewels on the collar. It makes this blouse chic on it's own, but also would look so cute underneath a sweater with the sequin collar sticking out.

Another work week is upon us, so I thought I'd showcase a work outfit today. I love the leather detailing on this dress. For me, the ultimate work outfit is one that retains a classic look (silhouette, fabric, colour, etc.) but has just a small detail that is 'on trend'. This leather trim dress does just that.

I had such a relaxing weekend this weekend; I spent time watching movies with friends, took a dance class, and did some shopping. It was a nice way to de-stress and get myself ready for another week! Hope you all have a fantastic Monday!!!

Cocktail Dresses - for the Fall & Winter

Happy Friday everyone! Cocktail attire can be a difficult dress code in the fall and winter seasons. My key tip to being fall/winter cocktail appropriate is to stick with heavier materials. You can still go with shorter hemlines and strapless silhouettes (like this dress) but balance that with a heavier material. This dress is created by my incredibly talented sorority sister Hilary MacMillan. Hilary launched her clothing line a few years ago and the pieces are incredible. The heavier wool of this dress, combined with the winter white colour make this my definite go to fall dress.

I Hope you all have an exciting weekend ahead!! I have been crazy busy in Court this week and so am looking forward to taking some time to relax. I recently got introduced to that tv show The Mindy Project. Do you guys watch it? I am OBSESSED haha. I will probably curl up and watch a lot of it this weekend!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! How has your week been so far? Mine has been a bit chaotic - I am looking for a new apartment for December 1st so I have been spending a lot of time apartment hunting / viewing. Also, I am so so excited that I am modeling in a local fashion show tomorrow night! It is a small event but it looks like it will be a ton of fun. I had my fitting for the two outfits I will be modeling and they are pretty cool/unique. Be sure to follow me on instagram - LegalLeeBlonde for some backstage at the fashion show pics! 

1. Missguided Asymmetric Zippered Dress: How awesome is this dress?! I love that it takes a structured, masculine suit look and turns it into an edgy feminine dress. So into it. 

2. Gold Sequin Leggings: I have no words for how much I want these in my life. Gold. Sequin. Leggings. ... three of my favourite words. I want to wear these to EVERY holiday party this season. 

3. Neiman Marcus Last Call Faux Leather Jacket: Faux leather is everywhere this season, but I love the uniqueness that this jacket brings to the trend with the collar/cut of the jacket. 

4. Express Midi Skirt: I am a sucker for midi skirts; they are just the greatest item of clothing. I can see wearing this one a lot this season to holiday parties, but also in the summer with white and blue stripes and neutral wedges for a nautical look. 

5. Barrington St.Anne Tote: Plaid is such a big trend, but this is the first time I have seen it on a bag. Great to have something on trend, but in a unique way.

6. Michael Kors Selma Satchel: Please add this to my long list of Michael Kors bag crushes. I like the folded out sides and the fact that it has a zip top closure.

Channeling my inner Princess Kate

Good morning lovelies!

Who is with me on thinking Princess Kate is just about the most stylish lady ever?! I love her style and when I saw this gorgeous dress from EShakti, I knew I wanted to create my own "Princess Kate look". This dress, nude heels (I swear Kate is ALWAYS in nude heels), and some pearls and I was feeling positively royal. This is one of my favourite outfits to date!

The cut of this dress is classic and glamorous. I love the sweetheart neckline and the tie at the waist. My favourite part however? IT. HAS. POCKETS. The best! This exact dress is no longer available on EShakti, but I highly recommend you checking them out. They are an online retailer (which I am generally wary of) but from my experience with this dress, they are good quality. I was really impressed by the ability to customize every item they have. You can change necklines, sleeve styles and even the length of their various dresses to suit your exact preferences! Cool!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are ready for the start of another week! I personally just discovered that Blenz coffee has COCONUT SYRUP. Coconut Latte's will absolutely be the fuel of my work week this week! Yum!

Wardrobe Re-Wear - Two Ways to Style a Plaid Blanket Scarf

Happy Friday guys!!! I am so excited to announce that today I am linking up with fellow blogger Tif from Bright on a Budget. Tif and I are each pretty obsessed with our Plaid Blanket Scarves that are UNDER $15 (see my original post here) and it seems the fashion world has likewise fallen in love with plaid blanket scarves.

So, Tif and I decided it would be awesome to link-up and each show you our favourite way to style our scarves and, in the process, give you two different ideas for ways you can wear yours! (a wardrobe "re-wear", if you will!)

This is one of my favourite cozy fall looks. Blanket scarves are super bulky, and thus, the rest of your outfit needs to be styled accordingly. This Old Navy vest is the PERFECT pair to this scarf because it has a 'puffer vest' look, but it is actually quite thin and so does not add bulk. I definitely recommend this vest!

I paired my scarf and vest with a basic cotton long sleeve tee in a colour that is in the plaid of the scarf (so many colours you could choose from to create a similar look - like the burgundy Tif styled!); and my favourite Old Navy skinny jeans. Girrrrrrls, I cannot preach enough about these jeans. They are BY FAR the best jeans I have ever owned, and they are also some of the cheapest! If you have curves (hey there hips!) these seriously provide the greatest fit.

Today officially wraps up my first week of work at a new Crown Attorney's office. I had an amazing, amazing week. I learned so much and loved the work.
